Spring Yoga Offerings

Hi there, and welcome to perhaps one of your first newsletters from me.

Spring is inching forward rather shyly. I made it through my first full winter in Maine! I enjoyed downhill skiing a few times with dear friends and also spent time curled up with many cosy fires that kept me company.

Teetering on the cusp of a new season, I recognize that, at this time of year, one of my tasks is to cultivate patience as we bridge from winter into spring. I notice myself yearning for warmer weather, more color, and sunshine that is inevitably just around the corner yet cannot seem to arrive quickly enough. Anyone relate? If you live in the Kennebunk area I hope you weathered this recent storm well.

Seasons shift and change in our own lives, too, of course. The current season of my life has me acclimatizing to a new country and adjusting to my two daughters now living mostly away from home. As I navigate this transition, I am busy building and establishing my healing practice here in Kennebunkport, Maine. Thank you to all of you who have welcomed and supported me as I integrate into the community full-time, and a heartfelt thank you to those of you who are making my studio come alive with your energy.

I have recently completed a four-week morning yoga series in this brand new space, and I am also delighted to be seeing clients here for individual yoga and holistic mental health counselling sessions. Below you will find info on two new yoga happenings for this spring. Please take a look and reach out if you have any questions.

WHAT IS YOGA NIDRA?

Yoga Nidra is like guided, lying down meditation. This practice, also known as yogic sleep, is a deep relaxation technique. During Yoga Nidra, you shift into your parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system state where healing occurs. Yoga Nidra is effective for managing stress and reducing anxiety. All you have to do is show up, lye down, and listen to my voice.

_______________

4-Week Restorative Yoga Class Series

Wednesdays, April 24th - May 15th

6:15 -7:15 pm

Pre-Registration by email is required

$20/class payable in advance by VENMO

HOW RESTORATIVE YOGA WORKS

Restorative Yoga uses postures and props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks to support your body in rest. Postures are held for about 3-5 minutes without effort. Over time, with support and my guidance, you will shift into your parasympathetic nervous system channel evoking the relaxation response. I recommend restorative yoga for anyone experiencing stress, recovering from disease, is a caregiver, or who simply wants to chill out!

Both of these offerings are all about deep rest.
There are just a couple of spaces remaining in each offering so do register soon if you are interested!

Let rest be a delicious possibility.
